January 1/27/2012...One Year in Dallas and...
I’m excited to say I’ve been in the same job in the same city for more than 1 year! Work is going great as we are meeting with people and helping them going on now for 127 years just as a family firm and 5 generations in. I’m around family more not only at work, but in Dallas as well. It’s fun to just be able to go by and play with my niece and nephew at my brother’s...

Dallas +6 Edition
Jan, Feb, March, Arpil, May, June… and in a couple days it will be July. It’s already been 6 Months since I started my new job in Dallas! That is crazy! Without getting into all the day to day and month to month of the job, I want to focus on the city, people, pursuit of adventure, connecting people and reconnection with people…oh, and travel. Dallas has surprised me with how...

For sake of Travel...
I was in Phoenix last week with Project 7 making coffee, came back to Boulder, CO to finish my last weekend at the Hotel Boulderado where I was parking cars. My truck died 2 weeks ago, so I got a rental car for 2 days to run around town. I gave my bikes and crash pad to Gordon, gave my roof rack to a buddy to sell on E-Bay, and gave my stereo to my roommate. I sold my truck for spair parts, and...

Hey Fat Boy!
This post is for the brothers who keep asking me for pictures, and asking how it’s going…thanks for the swift kick to the pants. I needed it. Bro’s, Here is a brake down of what I’ve been up to the last 3 months. It sounds a little much like a shopping list, but I’ll try to get back in the flow of posting and trying to get more thoughts and opinions down. But for...

I think I Boulder can...
Hey, Still in Boulder looking for jobs….it’s fun, stressful, and interesting. I hate it and I love it. I’m tired and I’m energized. So many emotions, and so many ideas. I really enjoyed talking to my dad and my bro last week to get a little perspective of why I am here. They are always an encouragement to talk to and to listen to. I also have enjoyed hanging with my room...

Calling Colorado Home...
Boulder Colorado is my New Home! It was great to drive in last week from Dallas, up to OK City, then up to Kansas and over on I-70 all the way into Denver Colorado. Everything was going smooth on the drive, but it was long. I stopped when I needed to get gas or just walk around and drink a soda. When I got about 40 miles outside of Denver, I was surprised when my back right tire blew out, not to...

traveling...but thinking of settling.
I’ve been driving around Colorado for the last 2 weeks starting the day after my bro Taylor got married. Before that I had just gotten back from Europe, drove to AR to help with a bike race, and then spent 2 weeks hanging between Austin and Dallas.  So if that wasn’t confusing enough….Europe, AR bike race, Austin and Dallas, T’s Wedding, 2 weeks in Colorado.  Colorado is...

I'm sorry but I'll try harder...
I have not been good at keeping up with posting…with that said, I’ll try harder. I know this is an exercise that will help me to keep up with my life and those I interact with.  After NYC I went and traveled Europe for almost 8 weeks: London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Central France, Amsterdam, Belgium, Northern France, and back to London where our flight was cancelled due to a volcano...

Leighton Takes Manhattan!
New York, New York!!!   (Early March) Bright lights, skyscrapers, museums, shows, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building…and yellow taxis! All things that are very New York…but that was not my prioraty when I went there. I went to hang out for a week with Mike Barry and Adaobi and ended up making more and more friends. Mike just turned 25 and so did John (his roomate) so of course...

Los Angeles in a nut shell
Hey everyone. LA was great. I am in Dallas now, and the traveling is starting to pick up. I flew into LA last Friday just in time for lunch and stayed there until just after lunch on Wednesday. For about 5 days I hung out with Richard Card, an old friend from Dallas, and had a great time. We ate great food, went to a couple concerts, saw a comedy troop, and even went hiking up to the Hollywood...

There's Gold in them Hills...
Heading West right now, far West to L.A. for a photography confrance focusing on the business side of photography. I hope to meet people, learn some things about marketing a product, and see some friends. Richard Card, a good friend from high school, lives in Hollywood area and Lauren is close to the beach. Brooks, a friend of Jonathan’s is conducting out there too. On a plane about to...

On the road again...
I just got back from Nashville, TN visiting my brother and his family. Drove my ‘95 Yukon 8 hours to get there on I-40: 3 hours to Little Rock, 2 more hours from there to Memphis, then 3 more hours from Graceland to Nashvagus! Nashville is a cool city. There seems to be enough going on but small enough that even I can go to a small concert and see 5 people I know. The people are great...

Paid to travel?
The best kind of hobbie is the one that pays for itself. That’s something I’ve been saying for a while. Along the same lines, it would be great to get paid to travel. Last weekend I was working a ton. After working in Fayetteville I drove Friday night 4 hours to Hot Springs, AR. One of my buddies is a professional event photographer. I got a chance to use some of his equipment and help...

Thanksgiving 09
First, the answer to my last posted question was “Writing in cursive.” Now, my Grand Pa turned 90 and we got the whole Fam Damley together - 38 strong. Good times. One week off work and gas and everything I only spent $275. (my truck only gets 14 mikes per gallon….sucks I know) seeing my nieces and nefiew was for sure the best part of the whole trip. I also got a chance to...

Lawrence, Kansas
Last weekend I drove up to Lawrence, Kansas to see one of my best friends from high school, Adam Murphy, who I was in a band with back in the day. Adam is getting ready to move down to Texas soon so I thought I would drive up to KS one last time to hang out with him. I drove up Sunday night, we hung out Monday, then Adam actually got sick and slept all day Tuesday, then I left on Wednesday...

So, today was the mountain bike day…we got up with plenty of time to get a good start at 8:30. After waking up at 8:30, we took our time eating breakfast and trying to find train tickets to Berlin tomorrow. About 10:20am we where riding down the hill from the Gardner’s house where we are staying to to town of Landstuhl to hop on a train and get closer to the trailhead. This put us...

Day 4...My Dad's B-Day!
Happy Birthday Dad!!! Germany is great. We met up with some friends in Munich and jumped in an Ultimate Tournament…and the team I was on WON! October fest was crazy. So many people drinking bigger beers than any one person should hold in their hand much less consume. We sat in a tent with 8 thousand other people. It was crazy. I had a couple and was good, but the brothers have a rule from...

You won't believe this
We were talking with the airport people while we were waiting and it came up in conversation that our ‘final destination’ is going to be Munich. Well, they said “why don’t we just send you there?” 15 minutes later we are sitting at our new gate about to get on a plane for Munich, we save money because we won’t have to get a train ticket, and we’ll save...
